Fundraising for alternative investments, funds that invest in assets such as private equity, hedge funds, real estate, venture capital and credit, is experiencing a drought.  The dry spell that I previously identified in my note “Private Equity Drought: The Next Liquidity Squeeze” (posted at https://therabidcapitalist.com/ on August 7, 2023) has implications not only for the alternative investment industry but also for public and private companies seeking capital.  The liquidity squeeze from the shadow banking world has begun and with it, capital investment is being curtailed to the detriment of all that rely on it.
