Today, Reuters reported that Tesla has exaggerated the prospective driving range of its vehicles by manipulating their range estimation software at Elon Musk’s direction. Tesla employees were instructed to prevent consumers who complained about inadequate driving range from bringing in their vehicles for maintenance. The company created a “Diversion Team in order to cancel as many range-related appointments as feasible.
