The Venture Capital Exit: Resuscitation Or Death Spasm? The Big Point

The Financial Times reported that venture capital-backed firm exits through mergers and acquisitions or initial public offering (“IPO”) transactions grew to $67.7 billion in the second quarter, a noteworthy increase from the $38.5 billion in deals in the comparable quarter of 2024. Some bankers and investors have been encouraged by this data. Unfortunately, it does not evidence the resurrection of robust exit markets.
